We are at a crossroads.

As we began planning this issue in February we instinctively knew it was time to face the complex issue of artificial intelligence head on. Things were changing faster than we could ever keep up with and while we had, and still have, endless questions about it we had to dive in and consider how we will approach it at see-zeen.

So for issue 8 we decided to do a feature on AI and tackle the divisive topic and its role in image making. We show a range of work generated by AI from artists taking very different approaches and in the selection we hope you will find something interesting and will remain open to future possibilities, as we are trying to be.

In our regular feature A Visual Dialogue our participants come from Russia, Switzerland and Dominican Republic but currently they all live in a state of non attachment and wanderlust.

While new technology tilts the scale slightly we don’t want to detract from our ongoing mission to show new emerging photographic talent.

Photographers for the main section of this issue come from Argentina, Belgium, France, Guatemala, Iran, Nigeria, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
